Did You Know?
Beginning January 1, 2023, telehealth services available to you at no cost might disqualify you from making HSA contributions.

Thankfully, embedded in legislation just passed by Congress is a two year provision under which availability of telehealth services does not impact HSA eligibility status.  Assuming the President signs the SECURE 2.0 ACT 2022, the special treatment telehealth has enjoyed during COVID-19 continues through December 31, 2024.  Under the SECURE 2.0 ACT of 2022, telehealth services available before satisfaction of the deductible of a high deductible health plan (“HDHP”) do not disqualify a person from making HSA contributions.
