Hitesman is a frequent speaker to legal and non-legal audiences on various employee benefits and FMLA topics. She has been a guest speaker at the Minnesota Government Finance Officers Association 2004 Annual Conference, the Employee Benefits Institute of America, a Minnesota Counties Insurance Trust Employee Benefits Workshop, the Minnesota Counties Human Resource Management Association, the National School Boards Association, and others. Darcy also presents information to other lawyers at Minnesota Continuing Legal Education, Law Education Institute, and Minnesota Institute of Legal Education seminars.
She has written over 20 articles; is the author of Shopping for Stop-Loss Coverage published in the Health Benefits Planner; and is a co-author of the book, ERISA Compliance for Health & Welfare Plans for the Employee Benefits Institute of America (EBIA) – a position she has held since 1999.
