Darcy L. Hitesman Appointed as Minnesota Racing Commission Chair by Governor Tim Pawlenty

Minneapolis, MN (July 12, 2004) – Minnesota Racing Commission member Darcy L. Hitesman has been appointed as its Chair by Governor Tim Pawlenty. Governor Pawlenty appointed Hitesman as a member of the Commission in October 2003; she began her chair appointment on July 1, 2004.

The Minnesota Racing Commission licenses persons and organizations to operate racetracks, conduct horse racing, and conduct pari-mutuel wagering on horse racing; enforces and collects all applicable taxes and license fees; establishes a Minnesota Breeders’ Fund; and operates a card club. The commission consists of nine members appointed by the Governor.

Hitesman is the founder of HitesmanLaw P.A. She has practiced employee benefits law for 17 years and received her law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1987.
